Music is the universal language of Mankind. -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Piano lessons are comprised of theory, ear-training, technique, and repertoire. Lessons are typically taught in a 45 minute or 1 hour long lesson. Students who are early beginners may have 30 minute lessons. Students are unique when it comes to learning how to play the piano, so I use a variety of engaging activities and games that help introduce material to students. Other resources such as iPad apps and games may also be used in lessons if necessary. Performance opportunities are given to students throughout the year.
Some suggestions before beginning piano lessons (However, these do not determine whether a child can take piano lessons or not!): -The family should own a 88-key piano (digital or acoustic) -Students should have basic reading skills -Students should have access to Internet or access to devices for listening to music -Students should have blocked out time in their schedules of at least 30 minutes- 1 hour a day to dedicate time to practicing the piano -Students and/or parents should have a sincere interest in music
